Celebrating Our Local Favorites: Best of Sierra Vista 2025
Every year the Best of Sierra Vista Awards give us the perfect excuse to brag on the incredible local businesses and organizations that make our community shine. And this year, a whole bunch of veteran-owned and community-focused favorites cleaned up big time.
Doc’s Watering Hole: A Local Legend
Doc’s isn’t just a honky-tonk — it’s where memories get made, whether you’re grabbing a burger, catching a band, or, apparently, proposing or breaking up.
More Local Winners Worth Cheering
The fun didn’t stop there:
Barbershop 223: snagged second place among barbershops.
Bam Bam BBQ: rolled in with first place for Best Food Truck.
Buzz Dawgs & Gunny’s BBQ: tied for third place in the food truck category (and Gunny’s, of course, bringing that Puerto Rican BBQ flair).
Rage Quit Games: took the #1 spot as Best Game Store.
Urban Axe Yard: claimed second place in Best Game Store and third for Best Locally Owned Specialty Store.
Bianca Myers: recognized as the Best Photographer and Best Artist — total creative powerhouse.
Our Community Champions
A huge salute to the Warrior Healing Center, which swept Best Nonprofit, Best Veteran Organization, and Best Local Charity. That’s three first-place awards for a group that truly represents what it means to be community-owned and veteran-strong.
And let’s not forget the Stand Up for Freedom Street Fair, which grabbed second place for Best Fundraising Event. That event brings so many of us together every summer in support of veterans — it’s awesome to see it get recognized.
A Personal Shoutout

I’ve got to spotlight Beatriz Villalobos at CrossCountry Mortgage
. She landed third place for Best Mortgage Lender, and her office took second place overall. But let me just say, in my eyes and in the eyes of so many in our community, she’s #1 every day. She works tirelessly for her clients, and I couldn’t be prouder.
Wrapping It Up
So there you have it, a big round of applause for all the local businesses and organizations that make Cochise County such a great place to live. From wings and BBQ to nonprofits and fundraisers, these winners show off the heart of our community.
Supporting local isn’t just about good food or fun spots to hang out (though we’ve definitely got plenty of those) — it’s about cheering on the people and families who pour their time, sweat, and heart into this community we call home.
If you want to learn more about living here, buying a home, or just finding your place in this amazing town, reach out anytime. Sierra Vista and Cochise County have something special, and I’d love to help you be part of it.
