On July 15th, Congressman Juan Ciscomani announced his full support for Fort Huachuca as one of the top contenders for a new U.S. Space Force mission and squadron. If selected, this wouldn’t just be a win for the Fort — it could mean massive opportunities for our whole region. So what’s happening? The Department of the Air Force is in the process of picking a base for a new Space Force mission focused on space awareness for Combatant Commands. Basically, it’s a squadron designed to help defend our assets in space and maintain the upper hand in future military operations.
